Saturday Night In

Tonight Andy and I are staying in. For the past few weeks we’ve gone out to dinner on Saturday night and hit the bar scene up.  Bars and restaurants are fun, but sometimes it’s nice to just lay low and hang out at home. Tonight we decided to do just that!

Earlier today we picked up some groceries at Whole Foods to make dinner at home tonight.

On the menu: A salmon burger for me and a ‘real’ burger for Andy.  On the side Andy made sweet potato fries  and we also had some fresh pineapple to go along with our meal.  Yum!

My Dinner

Andy's Dinner

To drink I made a fun little cocktail called “Orange Dreamsicle”:

  • 2 oz whipped cream vodka
  • 2 oz orange juice
  • 2 oz orange soda
  • splash of grenadine

This drink is so good! If you like sweet and fruity drinks, you’ll enjoy this one!

Dinner + Drink

Since the weather was nice we decided to eat outside on the patio. The only thing missing was an ocean view…darn, too bad we’re in Ohio and not in North Carolina!

The weather was perfect for a meal outside…mid 70’s and a slight breeze.

Enjoying my Orange Dreamsicle!

The pups already ate their dinner, but that didn’t stop them from trying to get a little somethin’ somethin’ from us:

Look at us! We're sitting so nicely! Now give us a treat!

After dinner it was time for another drink 😉 This time I combined the following to make an Orange Soda drink:

  • 2 oz whipped cream vodka
  • 30z orange soda
  • 2 oz club soda
  • 1 oz orange juice

    My 2nd drink concoction

This combination was really good! It was not as sweet as the first, so if you like a more refreshing tasting cocktail, this one is definitely it!

While we relaxed on the patio, the dogs played in the yard with their toys…and had their usual wrestling matches.  Even after a 3-mile run today they are not the least bit tired.  Hopefully after some play time they’ll be ready to sleep!

Boo and Sophia

Sophia played her favorite game of fetch with Andy:

Go long!

And she gets it!

I'm so amazing at this game

When Boo catches it, he likes to play chase…so he sits real still until you get close and then takes off:

My toy now...just try and come get it!

It was a nice dinner in on this Saturday night and just what I needed.  Now it’s time to relax for the evening.  Have a great night! 🙂
